On the Grote Markt in Groningen
There’s no place in Groningen more beautiful and central than the ‘Grote Markt’. A place with great historical value. Before the war, the Grote Markt was one of the most beautiful squares in the Netherlands, and in the meantime hard work is being done to restore the square to its former glory. Café Willem Albert is located on the ground floor of The Market Hotel, with a high end bar and terrace where you can dine and have a drink. You can go to Bakkerij Westers for freshly baked sandwiches and delicious coffee. We will be happy to welcome you!
Café Willem Albert
A special name for a special cafe. A reference to the Groningen industrialist Willem Albert Scholten, a family name with a rich history. The Market Hotel was also built on the same spot where the Scholtenhuis once stood.
